In 2013, following a stroke, my walking speed and endurance changed overnight. For the next twelve years, I searched relentlessly for a modern, practical solution that would allow me to keep up my pace, cover long distances, and maintain my active outdoor lifestyle without immediate exhaustion.
I looked at dozens of traditional assistive devices and early-stage technologies over the years, but none of them felt right. They were either too bulky, overly clinical, or simply unsuited for everyday living.
Then, in March 2025, everything changed. I came across a short TikTok video demonstrating a brand-new, highly advanced piece of wearable technology. Watching it move, I instantly knew this product possessed real potential to help me walk faster and explore longer.
Taking a £2,500 Blind Risk
Finding the actual manufacturer behind the video proved incredibly difficult. Because direct contact information was unavailable, I had to work entirely through an overseas agent just to locate the right people inside the manufacturing company.
To secure a single unit for myself, I had to take a massive personal leap of faith. I had no established connection with the manufacturer, no guarantees, and I had to wire the full £2,500 price tag in advance to a complete stranger in November. I had to guess my precise waist fitting, leg length, and thigh strap sizes, not knowing if the product would even appear on my doorstep.
Luckily, in May 2025, the box arrived. I strapped it on, took a walk, and realized immediately that it was an absolute game-changer. I began using it at every possible occasion. The ability to walk effortlessly without massive fatigue returned.
I was so incredibly happy with the results that I tracked down the manufacturer's CEO to thank him personally, eventually booking a flight to Germany in September 2025 just to meet him face-to-face. I explained the incredible impact the device had on my daily life and pitched my vision: I wanted to bring this exact technology to the United Kingdom so others could experience the exact same benefits.
Initially, I looked into having the product medically certified for the UK. However, after extensive research, I realized the immense costs, clinical trial timelines, and red tape made that route completely impossible. I felt incredibly deflated, fearing the benefits I experienced would remain out of reach for the public.
But a turning point came in January 2026 when I attended the CES Exhibition in Las Vegas. Walking the floor among all the notable tech companies promoting wearable exoskeletons, two things became blindingly clear:

That is when I coined the term The E-Walker.
Think of it exactly like an electric bicycle. To ride an e-bike, you already need to be able to balance, steer, and pedal; the electric motor simply kicks in to help you conquer hills and ride thirty miles instead of three. The E-Walker operates on the exact same principle. You must already be able to stand, balance, and walk independently. If you can do that, the E-Walker simply provides smooth, synchronized robotic torque to power your stride, remove the fatigue, and let you go the extra mile.
